Fables of History - The Moons

One of the biggest bands in the current Mod community are The Moons. They're a project started by Andy Crofts, who is better known as the Modfather's keyboard player. But let me tell you, this guy can do way more than keyboards.

Before I bought the album, I only had the single that was released from it to go on, Double Vision Love.

I think you'll agree that it's a pretty good tune. It makes you want to move a bit, and that's never a bad thing. Anyhoo, they release their album, Fables of History last Monday and I haven't stopped listening to it since. If you haven't heard The Moons before then your first introduction is Be Not Me, the albums opening track. Right from the off it gets you tapping your feet, and has just enough of a 60s influence I think.

My personal favourite from the album is Jennifer Sits Alone. Its a bit different to the others in the album, as its slower. I also find it to be quite a relatable song, buts that's probably because of good ol' teenage angst.

"Jennifer wants to live on Jupiter, biggest in the universe, and far away from earth."

They released the video only yesterday, so here it is....

The rest of the album is just as superb, My other favourites being Can You See Me? And Something Soon. The latter is the sort of song that makes you want to get up and do things if you get me. That's why I like The Moons, they can write songs for a variety of moods but still have their own unique sound.

So that's me little album review, basically I thoroughly recommend it. I'm lucky enough to be seeing The Moons as well as Parlour Flames on the 30th November, so I'll do a live review as well.

Keep The Faith
